The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is an umbrella term for the several festivals that take place around the same time every August.

The principle events are the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival and the Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival. There are over a 1000 shows every day in over 200 venues  the festivals are famous for their stand up comedy events, lots of music, dance, street performers and theatre
